Part of a thriving restaurant and take-away food business in Haverhill, Suffolk, the Anatolia Mediterranean Grill and Cocktail Bar enjoys afternoon and evening custom from locals and visitors looking for fine dining, chic decor and a great atmosphere. The Turkish restaurant opened in September 2022 as the third in local restaurateurs Ali and Wendy Vagir’s food outlets in the area.
“VIP Red Carpet” in bold, durable artificial grass
Part of the entrepreneurial couple’s plans focused on the approach and front seating area. Working with Essex-based trade professional James Henson and his Henson and Sons Fencing and landscape team, owners Ali and Wendy had a clear vision on their “VIP red carpet” design from the offset.
Contractor and client met to discuss their concepts and, with James’ custom design, product and installation knowledge, the red path and black flourish pattern was agreed. Bolder and brighter than carpet, James suggested iGrass artificial grass. The striking colour selection has created not only bold visual appeal but a durable finish beneath the high footfall and seating areas. It is ideal for the “VIP red carpet” effect the Vagir’s were looking for.
Custom designs in fun and vibrant colours
Installed in July 2022, the custom design was programmed, cut and delivered in six strips. James assembled the pattern – 80 square metres of black, 42 square metres of red – into the red carpet and black surround design beyond the apron’s borders. Incorporating an artificial green wall backdrop for neon signage and infinite Instagrammable opportunities, the install took eight days overall. This allowed for assembly, cutting, positioning, glueing, seamless joining, drying and clearing. Rolling up when in position and sealing with Wetfix directly onto the gently sloping concrete for the greatest bind, the grass was rollered to distribute the glue before the final cutting around the balustrade. The front was finished with Venetian screening and a hedged border.
“Absolutely thrilled”
Now in place for its first full summer and regularly applauded by its growing and loyal patrons, the owners are “absolutely thrilled” with the outcome. They receive customer compliments on the outdoor area and Henson Fencing Services themselves continue to gain good enquiries whenever this installation features in their social media and promotional campaigns.
